You are right the cost of lumber at the moment is completely insane.

I'm back from the lumber yard. It was 150% more than when I built the big coop.

And actually down from a couple of months ago I was going to try and get a little shed built for my garden tools and saw the cost of plywood at Home Depot and decided to wait it out.

Building materials? just buy an old VW Bus, and hardware cloth the windows. (Probably cheaper) Gezz

Happy Fluffy Butt Friday everyone. It was a hot one today and spent all morning and half the afternoon out doing yard work and stalls. My chickens are smart, they know how to beat the heat. If your a chicken the cool place to be is under the mimosa tree's or in the creek. I joined them under the tree's on breaks and there is a price to be paid to share their spot. Cherries, lots of them got dished out today to get some peace.

Henrietta especially loves the creek, not only does it keep you cool, its full of tasty minnows and crawfish.
