If that doesn't work, what would happen if you were to lift her off the nest like you're been doing BUT set her down still in the coop, in front of the food?I may go toss some meal worms around to see if I can jump start her.
It seems despite all that has happened, one thing has gone right. I'm very for happy for you and Phyllis. I can't wait to watch the adventures of little Sylvie.Teaching her Baby
Watch this amazing video as Phyllis teaches Sylvie to drink. Be still my heart!
I don't think we are out of the woods yet but Phyllis is in control now. I trust her more than me at this point. It seems despite all that has happened, one thing has gone right. I'm very for happy for you and Phyllis. I can't wait to watch the adventures of little Sylvie.
It was out walking around an hour ago. Then it went back under her. She knows.

This exact question has been running through my mind.
@CrazyChookChookLady says that the chick could go get food and water if it wanted to do so. That I should be patient.
It’s so hard to be patient when one is so anxious.Feed
I have spread chick starter and grit all over the coop. If/when Phyllis takes her out, there will be easy food to get at.
Two things - is Sylvie pooping? And does one have to worry about a chick drowning in the waterer when a momma hen is there, or have you got that covered? Sylvie is so weak and tired, I'm afraid for that.I don't think we are out of the woods yet but Phyllis is in control now. I trust her more than me at this point.![]()
