The basement flooded just a teeny tiny bit in the place I thought water might come in and a little bit more in an area I wasn't expecting (and is therefore more troubling).
But it is no big deal. In Sandy I had over 6" in the basement - ruined the freezer and flooded out the pilot light for the gas boiler. This is like a little puddle that will dry out on its own just fine.
It did rain all night but is just drizzling now so I am optimistic I am past the worst of it.
I hope your rain isn't too bad.
I am very glad to hear that. Is your basement finished? I hope not with 6 inches of water in it previously.

That's good to know. I'm pleased you are safe :)

This morning it was beautiful out so I took the pot of coffee out with me and spent some time with the chickens. I was supervising Bunny and her 8 chicks while they were free ranging in the yard and she is teaching them to eat bugs. It was not long until I had a friend in my lap. Branch my silkie cockerel *strongly suspect he is a boy* was insistent that he was in my lap today. Once up he happily sat down and went to preening both himself and me. I've never had a chicken try to preen me before and it was adorable. After a good grooming session he just flopped over and stretched out and went to sleep. I'm soo happy I have the silkies now. They are different enough that it does not bring on the twinges of pain that Drummies offspring do. I did have Bubba up in my lap once today for a few minutes but he decided chasing grasshoppers was more fun then cuddle time. Once the camera charges I'm going back out later. It's time to get some new pictures of everyone and introduce you all to Bunny's new chicks.
Just what @Aussie-Chookmum said, it's the best medicine!
