Whoa! It's been a while since I've last been on here 😳. Things have been so busy now that I am back at work! I hope everyone's doing well! I will try and get up to date on this thread over the next few days...

In the meantime, I'll share this bucket full of cuteness 🥰

Hi cfonts! Long time, how are the chickens' going?

Hi everyone, I'm pleased to announce I've finished my song! I'm sure if I gave it to a producer it would sound better, but I'm keen to get it out there. I'm actually going to have some online tuition with a producer, so I'm really looking forward to that!

In the meantime, here is a link to my song. And some chicken tax.

A very poignant song Lozzy.
What a shock that must have been for you. :hugs 💗 :hugs

What a cutie. She doesn’t seem Buff Orpington to me, though. Maybe New Hampshire Red?
I know she’s a Hampshire Redhead, but I call her a Buff O, because she reminds me of my departed Goldie (who died with all the others, when my tribe was decimated by respiratory illnesses) maybe you could overlook it?

Aww, I feel bad now. :( Sorry to re-traumatise you. :hugs
Lozzy, please! My life history isn’t so different than others. It’s just that you found a kindred spirit on BYC that has similar experiences. I need no one’s pity, but I’m hungry and could use a hamburger at the moment! :D:cool:

I know what it's like to lose family members before their time as well, so I'm all about the empathy. :hugs:hugs

Okay, let’s get more into it. I truly loved her, and had marriage plans in the next two years (I was buying a house for her) waiting for her to finish college and have a perfect life, job, and me, in the United States. I was also very involved in the Marshals office at that time. Point is… life goes on, things can and will change. Ever ride a roller coaster? Life has its ups and downs (seems my coaster is faster than most others) but I move on.

Deana is not a well girl

From the front she looks fine. Bright eyes, red upright comb and an inquiring look.
The other end is a different story. Tail down, runny white and green poop sticking the feathers together and her abdomen feels kind of full and mushy, like a water balloon.

I examined her and couldn't feel any blockages. Trimmed off the yucky feathers and gave her a bath.

Her appetite seems a bit depressed, though she will happily take meal worms! She is still preening too.

I feel like I am getting mixed signals about how well she is. 🙁:idunno

Yes, it certainly is. I've had people ask before if, after a while, I'd recovered from family member deaths. I don't believe you 'recover' from loved-ones' deaths; you learn to live with it. :hugs
