Does the property you got from your nice lady neighbor give you enough space?
Demolish the house, merge the lots, turn it into pasture. May be cheaper than buying new land as tax basis if the lot will go down.

Good idea, but greedy me, wanting more land anyways. Central Valley is extremely expensive but I know where to get it easier than most. (Older farmers give up or eventually die off) morbid as it sounds, I’m a business man as well! Thanks for the advice RC. Luv ya!

I wasn't complaining either! She's beautiful and sweet looking. I was noting her red color, and hoping if you knew her heritage, her cross mix, you would tell us.

CB, does it matter? She’s the sweetest kindest loving hen in my tribe/flock, and yes still laying eggs, but not sure how much longer. She’s older than I thought and fatter than she should be (that’s my fault). I have to go now. It’s a long drive.

I know she’s a Hampshire Redhead, but I call her a Buff O, because she reminds me of my departed Goldie (who died with all the others, when my tribe was decimated by respiratory illnesses) maybe you could overlook it?

I suspect this will land me a SHRA tax bill, but have you thought about giving her a step stool? Looks like she could manage the shelf in two jumps very easily. Could be an overturned milk crate or something like that.

Yes, I need to figure something out. Tried a pet carrier once, and it didn’t fly. She was weaker then, though, and it didn’t sit very stably (is that a word? LOL.)
