You're adorable, Bob. It was the traveling without care that did the last batch in. That didn’t happen this time. They will be fine! I know you have everything they need on hand, including Corid, or I bet they are on medicated feed. I know you will have their temperature right. I know you will have marbles in their water. I know you will watch for pasty butt. And I know they will love you and you will have your lap chickens. ❤️🥰
Thanks @micstrachan I think I need to raise the heat plate for them. I might have it too warm for them as they are a week old. Legertha was sleeping mostly out from under the heat plate today when I went in to check on them this morning.

I feel like I've never seen her baby photos. How adorable! 🥰
That is true of all the older Princesses - I joined this group when I lost Scary to a fox and they were already laying by then. My avatar is an adolescent Diana but otherwise I don't think I have shared their baby pics (a rich source of chicken tax pictures!).
I don't have any of them as little chicks because they were a school project and I adopted them once they were already fully feathered but well before they were laying.

One trick on the heat plate is to set it at an angle - front legs high back legs low. That way they can decide how close they want to be and you don't need to adjust it every day as they grow. I found the Roadrunners would pop into the high end and stand on tippy toe to warm up now and then during the day - but would then snuggle down at the low end when it was cold at night.

That's because you are a kind and empathetic person. :hugs :hugs

I hope you sleep well tonight in spite of understandable anxiety.
Time to break out the lavender oil and the sound of the ocean hmmm?💐🌊:hugs
Lavender oil works so well. They are in my office so I will be with them all day today monitoring everything they do. I don't know if that is good or not.

They will be excellent choices for chicken tax. I look forward to seeing them. :clap :clap :wee:wee
