One trick on the heat plate is to set it at an angle - front legs high back legs low. That way they can decide how close they want to be and you don't need to adjust it every day as they grow. I found the Roadrunners would pop into the high end and stand on tippy toe to warm up now and then during the day - but would then snuggle down at the low end when it was cold at night.
I saw that you did that in the one photo you sent me. I may try that

I know I'm late but congratulations on getting them. They are so adorable and I did not even know polish came in that color. My favorite is going to have to be the one in the back sitting in the bowl. Her little top hat reminds me of the shape of Poppy's when she was little. I know Phyllis is spoiled, but I fear Mrs Byb Bob is really going to pamper these girls having the opportunity to raise them from chicks. And after the heart break from the past few weeks they and you will deserve it.
