Oh I love me a talkative chicken!
Here is my biggest talker digging for gold in the long grass. I am stalking for FBF picture but nobody is cooperating.

I would have to lie down in the long grass to get a good picture of anyone and there are too many bugs and too much mud for my liking.
There are three Princesses in this picture.

That third one was hard to find! 😆

Second icky smokey day in a row :( not as bad as last year, the fires are not as close, but not good. Woke up in pain and grumpy, so the news of chicks was extra lovely and cheering.

So excited to watch them grow!
I'm glad that we could cheer you up!

Happy Friday to All

Phyllis has that one feather still hanging on. 😳

And Sydney for good measure.

This girl in the front is the lightest of the girls and the one that Rosie has dubbed Flurry.

They are very pretty ladies indeed!
Is that color lavender like Miss Hattie?
And if so, what is blue like?
I don’t really care what breed they are but I still like to learn. To me they look like sweet milk shake froth!

Happy Fluffy Butt Friday everyone. It didn't take them long to leave the cage this morning. 2 minutes after the door was opened they were out exploring. They stayed out for a hour then returned to the cage to get down to the serious business of egg laying. I'm going to give them a few more days to settle in, but soon going to have to do some serious booty washing. Hopefully next Friday these girls will have some clean butts to show off.

You know, they could be lavender. Their blue is definitely different then Blueberry who is a 100% blue. The whole lavender thing confuses me somewhat. Apparently it is very easy to mix up whether a chicken is either a light blue verses lavender.
Blueberry, no question about it, Blue.

The new girls.

The one feather look is not really her best look. We should all forget we saw that out of deference to a very elegant lady.
Also, horrors, is that one feather actually brown not black?!
It's black and with no grey! (I mean white......)
