I had a long grass stuck in princess throat when she was about 5 months old, luckily I was able too pull it gently out .

it's kind of like leaving a dog alone with a bone. That's really not safe

My grass grows. I can’t even help that!

They do eat it! I had to pull out a 1/2 foot long out of Emily’s beak the other day ! She was choking on it. I’m glad I was there at the time

They need to keep up with it better. I had to lecture my girls about one part of my yard they had not kept up with.

In all honesty, Minnie fought me harder than the others have and my hands started trembling. I had to release her, take a deep breath, get my bearings and start over. More than once.

Hi yall! I don’t mean to change the subject but wanted to show yall what I made for the gals... okay, I do not feed my chickens chicken but this is made with the drippings from baked chicken.. so the chicken juices and fat.. if you think it’s the same you can tell me.. I’m not sure... anyway, I saw this in a magazine.. you take the fat from whatever.. bacon grease would be good.. today I took the juices from a roast and made the same.. and put in scratch and seeds and meal worms and refrigerate.. it got a little messed up as I was trying to dump it from the container it was in.. but it was a hit!

Hi Everyone,

I'm only getting started on this thread (on page 143 of over 6000 - soooo much reading left.) I loved the stories and the pic. of all the beautiful ladies!

Here's a 'blast from the past': I make my chickens treats, too - but each time I clean out their feeders, I save the powder at the bottom that they won't eat...and when I make a treat such as @WhoDatChick, I mix in the powdered feed, too. Makes it a bit healthier, AND reduces waste

Well, I can pretend it makes it healthier....kind of like extra tomato sauce on a pizza makes it healthier
