We are. He had a royal fight to get in (medical appeals process stinks, long story), but is scheduled to head to basic in December. I'm not allowed to put the proud parent bumper Sticker on the car until he graduates from there.
Youngest Daughter is doing her basic training now. Her brothers.find it hilarious. She was the one least likely to go out in a boat when they were young. :lau

Fwiw Shad, when pulling out nettles, we wear latex food prep gloves over extra long sleeves, with a rubber band to close the gloves around the wrist. It seems better than heavier gardening gloves because it affords a better grip and finer movement in the fingers.
I might try that. I'm using leather gloves currently.

So one of the neighborhood hens, who I’ve named Pearl, stopped by and introduced me to her baby chicks this afternoon 😍

Well, shoot. I hate posting this. Ruby was drained just last Saturday. She had a GREAT few days! But she is indeed swelling up again and tonight she is back on her shelf. I’m a bit heartbroken. I really, really don’t want to have her euthanized. However, her little body might not be giving us a choice. I have a very busy weekend and the avian vet is closed Monday, so it would be Tuesday at the earliest. Sorry to be such a downer after all these months of helping her along, but I’m so sad about this. I had hoped her little molt would turn off her hormones and buy us some more time. 💔
You've done wonders to get her this far.:love
