Not to be an enabler.....Jersey giants come in black, white and occasionally blue. They're gentle giants and originally developed in....NEW JERSEY! Rusty was one, flawed by breed standards (not supposed to have the red), but totally awesome and attentive roo
They are fine looking and as yiu say from New Jersey so no climate worries, but I am a bit intimidated by their size TBH!

Down to One

Hattie's lengthy molt is now about 3 weeks I think. Her bum is fully covered but her neck is suffering. Yesterday she was down to 1 tail feather.

Mrs BY Bob brought out a pumpkin muffin. Apparently pumpkin muffins are on Hattie's molt diet. Hattie ate more than Mrs BY Bob.

Today the feather was gone.

I did find it on the deck. It's pretty ratty.

In a related note, it seems Sydney has started her molt.

I LOVE🥰 the second pic. of Hattie 'asking' for more muffin, stretched up on her tippy toes!!! Despite being in obvious moult, she is still so beautiful and regal looking!!

Is there a way to look at both in person before purchasing? I'm thinking a cubby for children might be made of more robust materials than a coop. But if they're the same quality, get the coop.
My thoughts exactly! Many prefab coops aren't very sturdily built. If there is a difference in quality of construction...go with the better built. Otherwise go with the one designed for chickens.

I suggest - if you can't see in person - read ALL the reviews on each product to determine strengths and weaknesses...and go from there. Sturdy/well constructed beats all other issues,,,IMO.
