I don't have transport. I don't even have a proper home really. I'm very reluctant to go onto Facebook. I can get into enough trouble here.:p
Same here Shad i won't go near Facebook or Twitter, imo they are dangerous places too be online.

I'm get where you are at, I still haven't sorted my home out since i left my last one.

You are amazing doing all you are.

I mentioned on this thread somewhere that once I had left Spain and the tribes behind what I would like is to look after Ex Batts. After the years I've spent trying to take care of chickens, I've got to the point where I can accept they will die, probably very quickly, and although I will come to love them, I now have the strength to let them go.
I've never owned my own chickens, I've never bought or sold a live creature.
These poor Ex Batts need help and helping them helps me in some strange way.
I don't think I can ever explain it well.
It's almost like you are, speaking from my heart.

I'm leaning more towards the battery hens now. These two have totally won me over

Yes, me too. All my cats are rescues and I have had some bad situations including suspected rabies - so plenty of heartache - but I look at my spoiled kitty cats and remember how their lives were and it gives me inner content.
I haven't found anywhere to adopt hens near me though I have looked multiple times - so I am a bit stuck in that regard.
Just keep an eye on what's going on here

We had a terrible storm one afternoon ~ lots of wind & rain. Through the downpour there was this insistant tapping on the glass of a window. A little songbird was trapped against the glass by the wind & was begging to be let in. Eventually I felt so sorry for it, I brought it inside, dried it off & warmed it up before releasing it in a sheltered corner of the yard. Throughout this little bird showed no fear @ all, just gratitude for some temporary shelter.
