I sure hope so too. What that really means is that there is enough easier food out there that predators do not need to resort to attacking your chickens. That is a good thing.We really must be in a different world at my house. We've had chickens for two and a half years now and still not had one predator incident of any kind. We see the big raptors flying up high and have smelled a skunk a few times, but that's it. No other sign that a predator even exists. Our chickens free range unsupervised all day every day, except they almost never will venture out onto snow. There was even one time where we were out of town for a few days with the door to the coop wide open. Everyone was perfectly fine when we got back. Weird, eh? I hope I didn't just jinx it by telling you.
