Well I think the lump I broke up in her crop was real and the long grass I pulled out of the other end.Yay! I bet it was just a molt all along. What a relief!

The new littles has destroyed the plastic.As a temporary measure, you could partially wrap the coop/run in plastic or a tarp - on the wind-ward side at least to help with the draft/breeze so they have a more sheltered spot. It will also keep out blowing precipitation - whatever form it takes. Best of luck!
