Girls howling for lunch, they always know somehow when I'm preparing it for them

It's like they have assigned one of the battery girls to demand instead of amber

Sounds lovely. Mine seem to have a thing against mash. I am going to try chick food crumbles. In the meantime my attitude is any calorie I can get in her is good so she is having rice with shrimp with her buddies and a good time is being had.
Maggie got her first weigh-in and not surprisingly is my heavy-weight champion at a shade over 6lbs. She’s a big gal!

Tina is the smallest but seems too be taking over the food call for some reason... Then amber tells her off and eats the most.

Good girl Maggie

I feel in a good place with Maggie. She lays an egg every 3-5 days, is not letting her molt get her down, stays busy with her hobbies (sunbathing and destroying the long grass), and is chatty and friendly to me. She pops up onto the little side table by my chair for a chat every so often before jumping off back to whatever is on her to do list. I also love her rich mahogany feathers. She seems to have a very active oil gland and she keeps her new feathers well oiled.

Here she is demonstrating her philosophy of life which can be summarized as ‘keep your butt in the sun at all times’

We had a good bit of sun today so the girls got 9 hours and 50 minutes outside. I feel good for the battery girl's having a good time after their awful ordeal being locked up and forced to lay then coming here and my three being so mean too them. Tina always came too tell me when she felt something was unfair and still does.

It didn't stop them finding their way around and taking the lead in some ways. They have taught everyone too tap the plant pots, I think they have now formed their own fluffy butt beat band

In return my old three have shown them very quickly how to dig into the mud and which grasses to eat.

Today was good for everyone now they are all tucked up as the sun retires

I am feeling a bit more optimistic about Minnie because of this.

I don’t think I will ever finish my drainage project with all the help I am getting.
At the top of the picture you can see the end of the pipe that I want to connect to.
And down the picture you can see my trenching shovel with Diana being helpful. Guiding the shovel maybe.

I managed about 3’ of ditch that way with no injuries to Diana. Then she carefully filled in the ditch I had dug and went for a rest on my chair.


I honestly think I will have to lock them in if I am to finish before the ground freezes.

The Cluckle Hut is Painted

A color was chosen and painting undertaken. The outside was completed today. Inside the run will be another day. The roof of the nest box will be white like the Big Coop.

The inspectors kept coming by to make sure Mrs BY Bob was performing up to their standards.
