Yes, I do the same when I let them out, lots of quick ways back in or out again, keeping in mind they always want to take the most direct line to where they want to escape when out ranging, which is back to the coop and coop run usually. Hmm, what I don't have is a hatch right under the coop, that run is a dead end. Not sure about that.
Yes, I walk around the arranged complex to be sure I've got them all closed up after ranging.
Thanks. I have a little gate I made back when I had the two haves of the run separated. I can probably repurpose it and install it on the back of the run.

You can beat an egg. You can beat an opponent, but you can’t beat a good fart! :old :gig

Monday Mugs

They have a really different relationship than my other hens. It is almost like Legertha is the older sister. Here is Legertha looking out at the world while Sylvie rests as they were out free ranging.. She almost looks fierce while looking out from their safe space.

The new littles has destroyed the plastic.

What more they have taught the old girls bad habits of tapping plastic to get rain water, amber's doing it all day even though it's dry I think she likes the sounds she's making (rolling eyes emoji needed)
I think it’s just a fun chicken-thing to do.
