Somehow I knew that she was going to lay. Rime was chatting more than usual, even for her. Her comb was super bright too.
And then ...
View attachment 2899586I expected blue. It's an olive green with a scattering of brown speckles.

Weirdly enough it changes colors when dry. I wonder if that's the bloom?

Here is a comparison to Shirina's.

An interesting note: the comb goes pale just after laying an egg.
That is so exciting! Congratulations! :wee:wee:wee

I am constantly at war with spell check. I have even looked up words that "new" I was spelling correctly that it did not seem to know. It can be very frustrating.

Does anyone have any input on the color changing egg phenomenon?

Phyllis is going to be unbearable. Sansa is going to be very cranky. 😆

Foot soak she tolerated, refused to eat any of the goodies I put in front of her, but was willing to eat when moved to the ground. Slight limp heading back to the coop in the blue yard light lit dark. Foot soak will happen again tomorrow, going to bring a few raisins (hasn't had unless in something) and part of a walnut for her.
That is very similar to Sansa. I wonder if it is a Wyandotte thing......🤔

My wife had a hard time loving those big black feathered, black legged chickens. It took her a while as you can see how different they were from our leghorns.
