Love is healing, she has Bob phyllis and Lillie. Given time she will heal, she's young and will form other bonds

A Bit of Good News

First, I am not reading everyone's posts, I'm sorry. Maybe on Saturday.

But I have to pass this on.

Sylvie is Alive


I misread the interaction with Lilly. I can only guess that Lilly was comforting her somehow. When Mrs BY Bob went to collect the bodies, Sylvie was gone. She was in the Cluckle Hut with Phyllis. She ran in the nest box when Mrs BY Bob collected Legertha.

Here she is asleep in the nest box. (Red Circle)

For those who are wondering, if I can find an injury on Legertha that explains what happened, I will have a necropsy done. With everything that is going on right now I need to know why.

I think shock is a big stress on the system, esp for chickens. She has Phyllis there, notice the roost position Phyllis has taken? It may be a comfort. I don't recall seeing that before.

I also took note of her position on the roost. Poor little Sylvie, my heart is broken for her and for you @BY Bob. Saying I’m sorry for your loss doesn’t seem to come close to covering it after all you have been through to get these babies

I think Legertha has passed. I can't be certain which of the littles it is from just the camera. She must have injured in an attack yesterday.

Both Gone

I believe from this video that they are both gone. Sylvie would have certainly reacted to Lilly's approach in some manner.

I may not be back to the thread until the weekend. I just don't know. I just don't know.

Thanks Marie. I am feeling a bit devastated after Bob's news (you will come on his post shortly) but otherwise soldiering on.
I too use some herbs in the coop and nest boxes - but please don't mistake that for something that will actually kill mites if you have an infestation of them. For that you need the 0.25% permethrin (which, if it makes you feel better, is actually a man-made compound based on something that naturally occurs in chrysanthemums.
