The news improves a little. I hope you kept reading.OML!!!!!!!!!![]()
I'm so sorry that I did not post on the bigs. Obviously I was dealing with a situation and not thinking clearly. They are all present and accounted for. There's been no head count on anybody else I'm afraid. Wondering about the Bigs. Lilly is alive and checked on Sylvie when she was in the Main Coop nestbox, Sylvie was no doubt catatonic from shock at that point. But she managed to get to the Hut to roost. Don't know about any others, it was daylight when Lilly checked. Don't know who else roosted there. Don't know if Legertha was cold when found, just that Mrs. ByBob did get her.
Lilly never stops surprising me. I just hope that one of them will start to hang with her soon so she is not alone too long. I need her to want to live.X2

Love and hugs sent your way, @BY Bob ...for you, your wife, and your lovely feathered friends.
I think the video of Lily is so telling about chickens. Knowing full well she is an iron beak kind of girl, what I saw was a gentle, tender moment of checking on sweet, scared Sylvie. May your remaining girls comfort you and Rose, and may you help comfort them.![]()

That is not a good strategy on their part.Honestly the colder it gets the faster mine shed feathers.
That is all I had at the time. She checked out fine when I actually got to her.Poor baby. Does she seem physically OK? Looks good in that clip but it is hard to tell.
I surely pray that you are correct. She will likely stay near the bigs, but on the fringes. As she gets closer to adult size, the distance will shrink. (Storm had to do this. Yesterday, she flew out of the coop and half landed on Cheetah who just moved away a little bit.)![]()

They are all lovely and you are getting them to sit for actual portraits. Nice work.Fret. She's very shy and she's the one who tries to bury herslef under Henry's wing.View attachment 2903030
This young hen has just had her nose cleaned. She has some respiratory issues.

This one is laying but she went on the watch list yesterday. I think she may have worms which I can deal with.

This one isn't quite the full ticket. She has what might be taken for mild bird flu symptoms.

This one is laying and moulting

This one had some beak adjustment. She was not impressed. Where her beak has been butchered, instead of growing foreward her lower beak has spread out sideways.

It's Bob's thread so I don't want to get caught slacking so here's a double FBF.

Cut that cat off! (Too much catnip)It really has. The whole house is melancholy.
Except of course this lunatic who is way too happy to see me.
