Hattie's Status

I gave Hattie a thorough going over today and she is perfect. Not a feather out of place. She is down a little in weight but not a lot. She is 6.39 lbs, 2.9 kg and normally runs 7 lbs.

She is such a total sweetheart she stood patiently on my desk as I checked her out today. She talked to me in her little squeaky voice. I'm so sorry that she is so afraid now. She is just the sweetest girl. It breaks my heart.

I've double hit hawk strikes in the past. The hawk had struck the first hen and squashed her resulting in internal injuries and then left that hen and killed another.

Brutal! Any idea what would motivate a hawk to try to kill more than one?
