Was Lilly not festive today...or did the wind blow her hat off?

I certainly hope it wasn't that left a lump of in her ??

My girls got a Christmas treat....some of these (window boxes with soil/fodder), plus some ornamental kale to snack on.View attachment 2940183

I just started sprouting for the Princesses. Won’t be ready for a few more days.
Do they like it that long? I have always given it to them at about an inch or so of growth but they dispose of it in seconds so maybe I should let it grow longer.

Lilly has many hats but chose not to wear hers as it was raining off and on and she did not want it to get soggy.

1st, thank you for trying nursing and then realizing it was not for you and then leaving the profession. Too many stay and are miserable.

2nd, Mrs BY Bob is a nurse and, as she says, will always be a nurse. She will retire as a nurse this February but will still go back occasionally as they might need her.

3rd, your post requires a tax payment. I see nothing in there discussing chickens in any way.

4th, I'm going to get on my high horse here, sorry Chaco . While nursing can be a good career, it should be more of a calling. The best nurses are there despite the horrible way they are treated by the Healthcare systems and doctors. They are there because the have a calling to take care of patients. They put up with everything else because of that calling.

Too many people have gotten into nursing because it is a "good job". As Mrs BY Bob reminds me, "real" nurses don't work M-F no weekends, no holidays. A "real" nurse has likely just completed a 12 hour shift and been told she cannot go home because there is not enough staff for the next shift and has been mandated to stay. They stay because the patient is paramount.

Waiting for Santa

Many of you will recall in that in 2019 3 of my 4 hens got to see Santa. When you got to PetsMart, you had to wait in your car with your "pet" until it was your turn to see Santa. I realized today that I took video of Aurora patiently waiting in the car for her chance to see Santa. You can see the excitement and expectation in her face. Watch along with me.

I always thank them for their contribution when I get their eggs my mum tells me I am nuts hahaha.

Must be same weather system as here, crappy rain, all my snow gone, ground thawed, back to mud.... Poor horses have to slog through that, and of course that makes rest of paddock muddy.

Even the chickens stuck to the manure pile, it's warm from the decomposition process , also up high they can see things, and might be some bugs hanging there as it's warm.
