Hi! I just made three little baggies of chicken treats. There’s about one cup per baggie that has a mix of grated: carrot, yellow crookneck squash, green zucchini, apple along with chopped kale, old fashioned oats and just a tiny bit of pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. Most if not all of it is organic.

I plan to scatter it around the run before letting them out in the morning. They also get sprouted wheat berries every morning (two tablespoons sprouted 4-5 days). If they like their confetti treat, I’ll keep doing it and trying other things (purple cabbage, tomatoes, herbs, etc.)

So it’s musical roosts in the coop. They’re all over the place with where they roost each night. Not even Bridge can make up her mind. Millie seems pretty set, though, and Cashew roosts up top every night. It’s a five-foot roost, though, and she isn’t always at the same end.

On another note, you guys know I love environmental control gadgets. I have a Buddy propane heater and on a couple recent cooler mornings, ran it with a little clip fan on the handle to push the heat forward in the run. I only run it for a few minutes, but they seem to like it. Maybe something for those of you in cold climates to try as a treat for your birds? I wouldn’t use it unattended, but sometimes will squat down in front of it with a bird on my lap. It also makes it cozier for the human servant to sit with the birds for a spell.

I have all 14 wanting in my toasty warm office hahaha - brats!

I am looking into an overhead radiant heater for them, bit really paranoid about safety...
