Is Sydney trying to Crow?

There were weird noise coming from the complex this morning and I caught this on video. Poor Betty needed to lay an egg but what was Sydney up to?

I don't know what the rooster vocal response or range of vocalizations is when a hen is looking for a place to lay, or is the rooster generally quiet? There is a definite back-and-forth there between Sydney and Betty, even when Betty is over at the Fluffy Hut. Betty's calling and then Sydney does her thing, sounds like a response. Do you think they might sort-a be pals? And was Aurora keeping Betty from laying, could that be part of it, or is Aurora leading her? Aurora was standing in the doorway of the Cluckle Hut during Sydney's vocalizations, effectively blocking Betty. But then interesting that they go together over to the Fluffy Hut, Betty behind Aurora. When Betty suddenly appears again out the door there - that's Aurora right behind her. Chasing her? Or following her around, tracking her? Nice big yell from Sydney when that happened!

Everybody laid an egg over here yesterday, that's a rarity. And everyone was very vocal, though no egg song that I heard. Just lots of announcing intent.

Yup EEs were suggested and it is what I suspect. I feel like a idiot not fully researching mom's short list breeds. I don't mind EEs, bearded and non bearded almost all of them are beautiful chickens. I am going to have to start having conversations with the chicks daily now though. I have 5 to 6 months to plead with them not to lay a blue egg but a brown one lol.
If they lay blue, any that hatch out should lay green/olive crossed with your Marans.

For many of us add rolls and rolls of hardware cloth, sheets of plywood, fixing hardware etc. and that is all before you put a cost on our heartache when they get sick, attacked, or disappear.

When Aurora and Betty went into the Main Coop (Fluffy Hutt, I may start using that phrase!) Aurora went into nest box #1 to lay and I think that resulted in Betty going to the Cluckle Hut to lay hers. There may be something to this who is going to lay where between Betty and Aurora.
