Most likely. They are very savvy and prepared themselves for this eventuality. It was always comforting to me that I really saw none of that while Lilly was feeling ill. Either they believed she would be fine or are already prepared by designating Aurora to be next in charge.Yep. And personality~wise I have very different sorts of hens. My small bantams aren't really designed for foraging but the Vorwerks, Campines & Wyandotte bantams are terrific foragers & will spend most of their day doing that. Soda & Hepzibah ran the flock together but I'm pretty sure they were relying strongly on the mature hens being predator savvy & keeping tabs on each other. The division is much more apparent now but all the fighting that was happening a while back has completely died out. Pretty sure now the girls knew the old order was about to change & were vying for position.
