What a week for crazy eggs, it's a good thing I just checked the neat boxes - I found another soft egg, this one had broke and was in the box. I cleaned it out, but now I am Worries, three soft ones this week.

I am would guess it's the young pullets who are just starting to lay, as I don't believe in coincidence with the other hens also laying soft eggs.....

But the thing is I got an egg from one of the pullets today so who can it be?

Anyone have issues with soft eggs?

I have never had more than a random one. I think @micstrachan has a little bit of experience with them.

It got so I was freaking out with the power going out here during storms for days...

We ended up getting a big generator for the home, keeps the basement sump, furnace, water and septic running. Also a couple lights. Big relief so the basement doesn't flood....

Also handy so I can do chores in the barn, get water to the clucks and geegees.

It's set up permanent and automatically cuts in when power goes out, such a relief when I am away so much....I got tired of hauling the other generator out of the garage whenever there was an outage, and ensuriy enough gas to run it.
This new generator runs of propane which the furnace uses... Such a relief!

I have considered one of those in the past. Very handy.

Me too! But it does remind me to get my generator out of mothballs and be prepared! (No chickens were harmed during this outage)
