You know, if you wanted side-by-side, you might be able to 'eliminate' the right side on one and the left side on the other and put them together that way, so one long 'coop' and a double-wide run? Depends on how they fasten together, but it might work. The modification you would have to do then is some sort of water barrier in the 'valley' where the 2 meet for the coop portion. (ice & water guard in the 'gully????)

If you were careful, you might just be able to screw the two metal frame together.

Sorry, but we’ve been at $6.32/gallon here for ages! For Tax free Marked gas, only available to farmers, some commercial uses, and in the jerry can for things like lawnmowers etc. You don’t want to know what the taxes here are like… (and I will need further “disgusted” tax photos to make up for having to do Math before 9am for all the conversions to understand that post! Gallons to Litres, USD to Canadian… before coffee! You monster))

If the U.S had only adopted the metric system when it had the chance in the 70's, it would have been a lot simpler. Darn my father for voting against it!!!

We all learned it and then didn't use it. Crazy.

I have never seen this. Very interesting.

I learned this at my other house. My 'woods pen' had lots of pines (and hemlocks, which they didn't eat...except for some of the tender new growth of limbs in spring) in it. Limbs they could hop up on got denuded of needles, especially in the winter when there wasn't much else to 'attack'. However, they would do it year round...and really liked the tender 'buds' growth in the spring of the new shoots and new needles. They have done this here, as well, to the few branches they can reach with needles on them on the 2 pine trees in the extended run. I figure if they like them, why not give them more as enrichment? I"ll have to get pics of what they do to the limbs/needles this weekend!

that would be good to see. I had a big pine branch come down in the ice storm. Maybe I should drag it to the Chicken Palace.

If you do this, you might want to attach them side by side but reversed...so you can access both nest boxes. (i.e. will have one 'coop' at each end, so that both nest boxes face out.)
However, if you do this without removing the facing sides, you WILL have to cut an opening in each side panel for access for the chooks between the two runs.

Yup!! And it is soooo much more straight forward than our wonky system...nothing jives nor is consistent units wise!

So, more work, more confusion, and more out of step with the rest of the world!!!!

I grind the tums and cook in an omelette, it smells awful, they didn’t like the mint flavour at all, but the berry works well (disclaimer… you may get pink eggs from the food dye in them)

I remember the pink eggs.
