It is also pretty wet out. So I’m not sure how well the butt fluff is going to photograph. For anyone doubting the worth of Roosters/cockerels look at these boys doing their job! Every group of hens has two to three guys keeping careful watch. They are working together even. There has been zero posturing or squabbles over hens, no mating activity, everyone is watchful. I have a shovel by my door and if that furry devil shows up… Sammy and Dean have groups as well further out into the field. And there are constant little concerned alert noises, but not actual alarms coming from the guys at anything. They are suspicious of me, the feral goats, our goats, the little junko birds, the ravens, the trees… everything is apparently a potential threat today. I just love watching Roosters work! I am so glad they are doing their jobs!

Chaco is doing well today. She seems to be thriving on the new diet that was set up. And she’s drinking normally.

Now for the photo's I took of everyone this morning. I did not get any of Branch or the cochin girls. The cochins decided the cabbage was a chicken killer and hid in the stalls and Branch stayed with them.

So for a little bit I was was watching these small poultry farm livestreams from goldshaw farm in Vermont … and they were on Facebook. Then I would get these random friend and chat requests (not a bot, but an actual scammer-because there’s no way a bot would have been able to deal with my responses) I was a little bored one day so I played along for a bit, sent lots of pictures that couldn’t be used to make another fake account, and constructed some pretty elaborate backstories and plot twists. My favourite was the one where I started out conversing like an evangelical sort of missionary, about our “Lord” then spun it to a satanist angle on day two of the “chat”… and there was the prepaid CC I finally gave him the number for $200, with $2.50 left on it that took him over ten hours to get. The first account I also spammed the heck out of his wall with scammer alert messages (that account had 300 friends all females, and had been active for almost a year) eventually I got bored, but it did provide for some good comic relief

Haha I kept a telemarketer on the phone for 45min one day, he was trying to sell me. Phone...

I had him believing I lived in a fly in community, got around on a sled all day (snow mobile fyi), and finally when I got bored it told him 'well that moose hanging from the tree won't gut itself I gotta go' ..... And I hung up

Poor chickies, I opened the barn door this morning and they took one look at the new snow and didn't even make a sound. They just turned around and stalked off into a stall.

Guess they figure digging in shavings is the only thing they will get to do today.

The SSN gets used as does the "IRS is reporting you to the authorities. To avoid jail time, verify...." Sadly they do get enough people to give them information (or even just a recording of your own voice saying "yes": from the "to speak to a representative say yes) to make it worth the time. The other frequent one: Grand(ma/pa), I've been arrested while on Spring Break/vacation/out of the country, please send bail money. I've taken to answering in languages ither than English. Responses have included: "What language are you speaking?" And "Is there someone in the house who speaks English?" Mental response to both: "If I don't speak English, what makes you think I would understand EITHER question? Can I sell you some beach front property on the Great Plains?"

Haha yup those questions would drive me mad haha, ' is there anyone who seeks English'.. too funny.

One day some one was going around the gas station where I was filling up trying to give coupons or something, I started answering in french and can u believe he kept talking to me ??!! I kept answering in french - finally I said to him ' if you can't speak French don't talk to me'.

He left me alone.... But made me wonder about such people. The definition of insanity ' doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome'!
