It's Friday! A lot had happened this week. I'll try to post chronologicallyView attachment 3036841More like tails...was trying to get Cheetah size comparisons (which makes Nellie standing up and dumping him all the funnier: she's slightly smaller than the white in front (Blanche/PITA))

View attachment 3036840Pear (snow gone except on the heights....until the next flurry; probably 3-4 more before mother's day)

View attachment 3036839Cuckoo, from Wed cleaning

View attachment 3036836Twirp, before I spread the shavings

View attachment 3036837PITA/Blanche, I can never tell which later (comb id not available)

View attachment 3036835Rooster fluff...

View attachment 3036843This morning, top to bottom: Hector, Mera, Primula, Nox , Asphodel, Belladonna. They started getting bouncy so moved things around a bit, added "climbing" sticks, a "tunnel" between the bricks (like in the bushes outside), and the wire on top. Working on fencing in the coop under the nest boxes so the integration can start. Moving day will either be a Saturday or Tuesday night so I can watch the next day....NOT tomorrow as there's still work to be done out there.
Great photos!

They have not divulged their names to me yet.
Right now their main skill is in convincing me that I have killed them. I relaxed a bit this morning when I saw they were pretty lively.
This may be literally the only time in my life when I know something that others don't about a chicken breed!
In theory I know what they are and even which is which so all guesses welcome. I will be happy to supply pictures of any part of each Princesse-in-waiting and from any angle. I already need to upgrade my data plan to accommodate the number of photos I took of them and I haven't even had them 24 hours yet. They were hatched on Monday and I went to collect them yesterday.
This is wonderful. They look healthy and happy. I'm so glad for you all. 🥰

I am already besotted. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Oh me too! You will have to tell me when I am overstaying my welcome here by posting too many pictures of them!
It seems like moving house is thirsty work for a chick.
This morning they came running out and dived head first into the feed. I think I am going to give them grit/dust bath later today or tomorrow - in theory they don't need it this early but bugs do get in the house and I am sure these baby raptors will gobble them up!

When you say 'blue' chipmunk you are referring to the sort of pale grey colored one? I never know what blue means in chickens - but I you are right there are stripes visible!
They are growing like weeds. When I got them home yesterday I was worried about the blue one because she was so tiny and seemed sleepy. This morning she pretty much flew right at my face!
The brown chipmunk one is the most 'robust' and has a worrying habit of pecking everybody else (including me).
Already have one pecking you. You ever wonder if it is your fault? Why do you make them so angry?

Well, it’s coop time, and I’m sitting inside with the birds. I have five Rocks staring down at me. (Should I be worried?, I don’t want Rocks falling on my head! :gig
I would be more concerned about the 'deposits' that the rocks make, than the rock themselves, falling on your head!💩💩💩

I would definitely give them access to grit.

There no way you could ever over post pictures of these precious ones. Post away!

Grey color in birds is called blue. Storm in blue. She was blue at hatch too. Some blue is darker/lighter than others. As light as yours is, I wouldn't me surprised to see "lemon": a VERY light gold and blue (in pale colors) as an adult, but it does kinda depend upon what breed. Making us guess is fun and not nice :tongue
