I'm confident in her mostly being all black knowing at least half her parentage and chick down coloring. I could be wrong but now I have to dig through the archives for chick pics to adult pics. If we knew the color of the ameracauana parents I might change my mind though. Pictures coming in my next post.
I am loving the chicks. I am also loving how much I am learning by having everyone guess about the chicks (which was just a bit of silliness on my part but turned into a major educational exercise for me). But most of all I love that it has triggered sharing of chick pictures!

Awww 🤗

Shame about the snow.
The weather here is horrible. Phyllis was so wrong this year. It was warmer the beginning of March than it is now.

I just put the electric waterers out again yesterday. Gross weather.

Wind chill in the teens today. Brutal.

Lows going down to 20 (-6.6°C) the next few nights. I will likely lose all of my Magnolia blossoms as they were about to open. At best the outer inch or so will be dead and brown when they open. It breaks my heart.

I'm so over it. :mad::mad::mad::mad:

I love the name you chose for her. Enjoy those juvenile white wing feathers, by the time they are 8 weeks old they will most likely be gone. My marans get them and loose them by 8 to 10 weeks. One of the reasons I was hoping she was a Marans is she has Marans hatch down colors. Knowing her mix now, and knowing she is half Marans I'm going to say its is a pretty safe bet to say as a adult she will be black with at least partial copper hackle markings. Thinking she'll look somewhere between my Corona and Bob's Lilly.
I sure hope so. She will love that. ❤

It's really not fair to all people to guess breeds and then have cross breed chickens. I'm a little put off frankly. 😕
I am sorry.
:oops:
Although @bgmathteach did guess correctly, and really there is a strong hint in my complete lack of understanding of breeds! I believe the other two are true breeds so hopefully that will make amends (though I worry you will be upset at both of them too).

Hahaha I hear ya!

Many years ago I would bring home eggs from a friend of mine, blue, green, pink - and my grandmother refused to eat them because they were not white or brown eggs AND because the hens ate bugs and such and the eggs must also have bugs in them !!
Wonder what she would have to say about my gals?!
Yes yours eat manure from mount poopmore, right? :gig:lau:gig:lau💩💩💩💩💩

I put away all my heated watering stuff too - I am not unpacking it - I will go out with warm water for a few days. It is a form of denial on my part! It has been snowing on and off all day but I don't think there will be enough that I will need to shovel.
