Thanks RC! They may have been reacting to the tin whistle.Wow! Lovely.
I watched/listened while spending time with the chicks. The music caused them to stop peeping!
I couldn't tell if they liked it. They weren’t scared, just interested.

You should have a minimum of 100 Sq feet for 10 birds to roam during the day. Does it meet the number? This is my coop and run. I have ten birds. They usually free range most of the day, but when they don’t, is this big enough for them all? (Anybody have an idea?) I have seen much smaller ones on BYC .
I guess I want to hear that my setup is fine for my chickens.View attachment 3044554View attachment 3044555
Have you been called his daughter yet?I have noticed it happens less often if DH isn’t wearing a hat…![]()
Is hard to compete with dual purpose birds.Ezzie is 6 weeks old tomorrow. Remember a few weeks ago when I posted this picture and said I would not mind at all if she turned out to look similar.

Well, it looks like I'm going to get my wish with her coloring. Now to keep hoping that I'm right and she is in fact a girl.

Ezzie is a pig, there is a reason she is as wide as she is. She can put those orps to shame.
I like her style! Here is another pig. Lulu. And she can’t play the ‘but I’m the smallest’ card any more. She has grown a lot and surpassed Bella. Lulu is a mischief maker. She climbs up on the branch and then dive bombs one of her sisters which causes all sorts of squealing!

It is very hard to find something sweeter than chicks dust bathing.I am being lobbied to open up the brooder door. I’m not sure that is a good idea!
And a first goes to Lulu who has discovered dust bathing. I have them a dish of grit. The others have no idea what she is doing but they like to pick at the bits of grit she throws around.

There is always one. This little girl in the back, she's been studying real hard on chicken life lessons. She gets a A in "Complaining Hens 101".

It is very sweet, until you realize that they completely empty their freshly filled food dish to dust bath in their food and scatter it everywhere. You want to scream. Its even more frustrating when they do it in a newly cleaned brooder. It is very hard to find something sweeter than chicks dust bathing.![]()
I am going to need some foreign language tax payments @Marie2020 and @featherhead007@featherhead007, @Marie2020 - you two are running up some big tax liabilities with the last few posts. You will have to ask @BY Bob if there are payment plans available.
