Oh no! What’s going on? Did they freeze?
She was only 1 1/2. Just a baby, Yes, she has had some laying issues (shelled egg INSIDE membranes and egg white) a few months back, walks gingerly sometimes in the morning, and hasn’t laid in several days, despite squatting for me. She was active last night during free range time after work, so thia final demise came on quickly. I knew it would come eventually, but did not expect it to be so sudden.
Is that bird okI have to share this; especially for Mrs BY Bob!

That is very sudden. It cannot be easy. She was only 1 1/2. Just a baby, Yes, she has had some laying issues (shelled egg INSIDE membranes and egg white) a few months back, walks gingerly sometimes in the morning, and hasn’t laid in several days, despite squatting for me. I didn’t realize that she was even sick. So sorry to hear that Sunshine is gone.Hi, folks. I am very sad to report my sweet armpit warrior, cuddliest chicken ever Sunshine died this morning. Below is a count of how it went down. Don’t read if you are faint of heart.
She did not come down from the roost when I let them out and was in bad shape. I cuddled her and then took about ten minutes to pull together a carrier, towels, and microwaved heat disk so she’d have a safe, cozy place with her friends (I thought she would die while I was at work). When I came back out, she was even worse. I cuddled her some more and sang to her through tears. She suddenly flopped out of my lap. I picked her up and she launched again. The flock started attacking her, so I pushed them away as I picked her up, trying to be soothing. I told her “It’s OK, it’s OK” as soothingly as I could. She made a couple sad little sounds and died in my arms.
Rest in peace, my little angel. I love you so much.
