Yes! Today is Thirsty Thursday! Wonderful!
Lozzy. I'm so sorry, what a dreadful experience too have to go through not only losing your your girl but then o top of losing penguin being messed about as you were.So I went to retrieve Penguin from the vet after work. I had mostly been ok all day, hadn’t cried until I got there. I went in, said I was there to pick her up, a vet came and talked to me about what the diagnosis was (most likely cancer, possibly bone cancer that then metastasised to her lungs) then I sat there for another 45 FRICKIN’ MINUTES waiting for them to get their sh*t together whilst in obvious distress! The vet nurse thought I was waiting for a consult, then worked out I was there to collect my dead pet, then faffed about with how much it cost (don’t ask for resuscitation, it adds $100 to your bill). Then retrieved the pet carrier WITHOUT her in it, then finally brought her to me. When I got her out to the car, I stopped to check it was actually her in the carrier! I then drove home which took over half an hour, in the dark, whilst bawling my eyes out! Hubby has dug a hole for me, now I’m going to give her a cuddle before I bury her.

But all the puddles here dried up/ were finished off yesterday and now they will have to potentially drink system water… clearly animal abuse, I know! Perhaps I should refill the puddles by hand with the trailer’s rainwater instead?Yes! Today is Thirsty Thursday! Wonderful!
I find that the unflitered rain water is just about an acceptable alternative to the muddy puddle and the bowl with rotting leaves in it. Their preferences are clear, but if there is no muddy puddle and I emptied out the bowl then rain water is clearly preferable to my well water. But all the puddles here dried up/ were finished off yesterday and now they will have to potentially drink system water… clearly animal abuse, I know!
