Lulu and Marty McNugget.
Marty is fitting right in, but she tends to give me coniption fits when she runs under Lu's legs 😲

The sun popped out just now, hopefully the snow melts, but it's unseasonably cold at -2C, and calling for -9c tonight.

Very unusual weather even for Canada!

The horses are still really fuzzy with their winter coats thankfully!

Hmmm looks like I need to fix some fencing, that darn Reenie does that to the boards, she's a cribber.

Can't wait to see what the chooks have to say about the snow!!!!

I too had a scare when my Silkies got into the duck pond in cold weather. I took the hen into the house and dried her off with a towel and then held her wrapped in a dry towel for a few hours. I did keep her in a warm outbuilding for the night before returning her to the flock though. This happened with all four of the hens, one by one. One hen died because she was stuck in the cold water too long. After that, I never had the hens go into the water again, they would just drink from the edge and they taught the younger chicks to avoid the water too. The roosters never did try to go into the water.
Welcome! Do you have pics of your Silkies? We would love you to share if you do!
