Maggie simply cannot think of anything more wonderful than a dust bath in the heat of the sun. She has been at it for more than 30 mins!

Thirsty Thursday.
Bella is clearly a connoisseur of fine rain water!

I LOVE ❤️ the elongated 'sip/taste' movement of the mouth clearly after she has swallowed...just like a fine wine judge trying to get a 'full read' of the wine from his palette!!!:love:love So cute. Definitely a connoisseur of fine water, as you say!!

At least she didn’t spit it out like the wine tasters do!

I don't think it's self absorbed...

Pain can be all encompassing, and interfere with sleeping, eating, generally being content... It then become worse and so on so forth.

One of the things I have interest in is pain control and living with pain with my horses who are elderly and myslf too (I have serious restless leg syndrome myself which keeps me awake at night, and the meds are just evil...).

With my old mare I try to ensure I give her pain meds immediately to keep her happy, but not to keep her on them too long to make her ill other ways.

A real tough thing to do, and I know how hard it is to ensure pain is controlled - meds come with their own challenges ☹️

So no I don't think it's selfish or self absorbed.

Oh and if anyone has any info on pain meds for poultry I would be very interested as my old hen is 6 now and I have noted a few times her being lame and stiff.
Thank you for your kindness and understanding 🤗

Restless leg I have heard of many times but not something I have experienced :( . That must cause a lot of sleepless nights which only serves to antagonize the pain and fatigue :(

I saw that both Agatha and Tina has has pain and used a little tumeric in various foods I think this helped I also rubbed a little onto cold coconut oil that appeared to work even quicker

I don't trust pain killers anymore, I found anadin and paracetamol a complete waste of time as for codeine that caused me a lot of stomach problems and may just have been the reason I had to have an operation.

A friend of mine has been prescribed for too many years a form of opium and I'm sad too say i feel it's now more an addiction than a help. It's so sad she can't even stay in touch anymore and I have given up on contacting her but here if ever she want me

So apart from tumeric I can't give any advice at all on pain relief for animals or people. I came across dm so, recently but I think I did something wrong because I found myself literally in agony...

However I've not wrtitten this off I just have to do a lot more research on how to administer it. That makes you extremely thirsty (a good thing imo)

I’m hoping this is intestinal lining and not something I should be worried about?!

It does look to me like lining, have you had any treatment for coccidia recently? I know you’re coming into winter and that many people treat in spring and wetter seasons for this. Based on the tarp mesh size I think it’s more the zoom than a large quantity of shed, but if you’re able to check with your vet?
