Bob will be home today so I can finally reveal this little ladies name. I would like to formerly introduce you all to Lilly. If you all remember back in the winter I asked Bob if he would mind if I named a keeper Marans chick Lilly. He didn't so here we are, the only Marans chick I plan to hold back this year. Hopefully this little lady is just as lovely as her namesake in the future.

My heart is full to bursting. I am just so happy that there is a new Lilly in the world. What a very very very special treat. Thank you for this. I have tears in my eyes.

I have never heard of a tattoo shop suggesting hemorrhoid cream for any part of the healing process, it has no painkilling properties, and I just can’t wrap my head around that. I have heard of some places using a lidocaine gel prior to tattooing, but most here won’t for fear of contamination as these are meant to be used externally and a tattoo is millions of tiny puncture wounds filled with ink. Most here also won’t ink someone under a mind altering substance either, drug or alcohol. I would suggest avoiding that shop… I have a couple tattoos, want a fair amount more, and had one heavily inked family member, and a lot of heavily tattooed friends. From the age of about five when I started asking for one I was told it hurts, and IMO if you can’t deal with that, keeping it clean, and doing proper aftercare (which has never included prep H!) you shouldn’t be getting one. Now, I need to take more tax pictures… sigh I planned on testing and spray painting (not at the same time!) the propane stove for the free camper project… I’m sure the chickens will try to “help” with that 😂
I had a visual of a chicken running in front of you as you spray painted, and got a perfect chicken outline 😆

Never get a tattoo on you foot instep 😲 hahahaha, buddy told he had to have his brother sit on his leg when he had one done on his foot....

The cost of them is too much now.

Yee gads I am going to owe lots of chicken tax.... Good thing it's not supposed to rain tomorrow 🐣

Raven and her chick are off the porch although from these photo's you can see they are clearly not ready to start the day. I guess when you only have 1 to look after you can be as lazy as you want. I will say if those in charge of this one's name do not come up with something soon I will be open to suggestions. Dad and grandma are who I left in charge....so far nothing.

I think I will have to submit this one to Picture of the Week.

How about Bo-peep? She is peeping our of some mighty fine fluff there? I know that doesn't really go with your hot stuff names going on (Wasabi, etc.), but she is just so darn cute peeping out..that name just jumped out at me!

Well, I peaked in on Momma hen, chaos will arrive sooner then I thought. 1 out of her 4 eggs are pipped.
I am so egg-cited I live vicariously through you with the babies. Just can't wait to see more babies,!!!

You are giving me all bad ideas on getting a few chicks....

Bad Kelly, bad bad Kelly for thinking this! An even dozen I'd more than enough!

The Wedding

So much has happened in the past 2 weeks and I have so much to catch up on here. The most important thing was the wedding which was perfect. My daughter was so happy.

The weather was dicey right up until the wedding day when the sun came out and the wind died down. This is what we saw when we woke up the morning of the wedding. It had rained mercilessly the day before. Soaking the wedding party as we changed locations from Positano to Amalfi. To wake up to the sunlight sparkling on the Tyrrhenian Sea like this was heavenly.

I did not take any pictures of the ceremony. I hired a photographer for that. Instead I remained in the moment and savored every moment. I did take a couple of photographs at the cake cutting and a couple of candids which I will share.

A candid of the bride before the ceremony.

After the ceremony we exited to an area where centuries ago the roof had collapsed. You can see the remains of the walls. We hired a mandolin and guitar to serenade the guests while bride and groom had all of their photos taken.

And the cake cutting ceremony.

It was a blessed special day and I am so happy for them that they got the wedding they wanted in the end.

That surely is a candidate for picture of the week and for the calendar as well. I would deviated submit it. Truly wall-worthy.
