Sorry the pics are a bit blurry...definitely NOT holding still for the camera:View attachment 3089075View attachment 3089076
I'm starting to think the hatchery got it wrong on the Black & White Chick. s/he is exactly 3 weeks old today, and his/her comb is now much more prominent than any of the others.....I suspect 'she' is really a 'he'. Or am I just overly nervous and need to give it a few weeks before assuming the worst???
Why start to worry early. Let it be what it will be and enjoy your time together. They are so cute. 🥰

S/he is gorgeous!

Well I would say that fluffy is the boss and Curly one of those 'i don't care to be in charge' ones.

But I wonder if Curly is starting to get broody again. Yesterday she was acting weird and chose another neat box....

Today mum said she had to break them up 3x and finally locked Fluffy in a stall for a bit to de-escalate things...
You might not be the only one there getting bit by the chick bug… lol sounds like Curley is thinking about it m, and Fluffy isn’t on board. The whole broody thing changes the pecking order a bit. Trouble starting stuff here is because she was one of my most Dominant hens, and with her recovery she has been isolated from the others somewhat. She hasn’t tried to pick on any of her meat tractor companions (despite the rotations) but when put free in the larger flock she will start something to re-establish her place…
