I have decided, to have a relaxing time and enjoy my cup of Coco. She’s having some meally worms at the moment. She already laid her little egg for today. :love
Jaffar is interfering with my restful time with Coco. He’s outside the window crowing “bring me back my lady, NOW!” I better listen to him. :(

I just love the way you can integrate with your brooder box. It is very well designed.
Thank you!
It does require the littles to be a bit smart and agile. The Roadrunners were very easy - they came out on the platform and followed the trail of food down the ramp and all was good.
This lot will only eat what they dig up so they have been ignoring the food on the steps - I think only Bernadette has been down one floor via the steps.
Lulu has shown me that she can fly from the ground to the top platform - she is a Legbar so I suppose that is not surprising.
I believe Bella could as well but not Bernadette.
Before her second leg went bad Bernadette could fly across to the big roost just fine but she hasn't tried since her second leg went bad.
I think it is improving but she may not feel confident yet.
She is getting out on the platform and up to the outside perch. So I think I just need to be patient and let them set the pace. They are a few days behind where the Roadrunners were but maybe that is not unexpected as they went outside a bit later (weather) and Bernadette obviously has some time to make up.
Here are all three out in their observation deck.

I have secretly been hoping they were something less high production layer oriented. Please don't hate me for it.
I absolutely do not hate you for it, I feel the same way. I tried to talk her out of Cinnamon Queens to no avail. My problem with mom is she is not familiar with so many different breeds of chickens. When she grew up and had them, there were 2 types of chickens, meat birds and layers. She remembers Cinnamon Queens as the chickens her grandmother had and she loved them so she wanted them. Maybe back then they were not as prolific layers so my points of reproductive issues just did not sink through.

I too was hoping they weren't production breeds and that your Mom woud fall hopelessly in love with them.
I am still optimistic it will all turn out well.

Well she has fallen hopeless in love....with the buffs. I knew that would happen as she adores Butter. She also loves the red chicks as I'm now calling them....just not to the degree that she does the buffs.

Thank you!

Remember also that there were only 2 roadrunners...and only a couple bigs. Now there are 3 littles...one who is a bit weak (feet wise) AND 4 bigs. The flock dynamics are different for this introduction, too! They may well keep to their own a bit longer, given that each 'flock' is larger.

At 11 weeks old and seeing the red on the comb and little wattles. My history for hatching and buying boys I can see how this chick would worry her and make her pull back a little.

Comb and wattles don't worry me...but the legs look quite hefty. How do they compare to the others of it's kind (whatever they are?)
