On weekend mornings, I like to sleep in. This is why I have auto doors! I usually take a peek at the chickens on the camera while still in bed. This is the view this morning. Sigh!

Good grief!!

It's been such a cold Spring, and out west and up your way too.

I could never live up north, I whine enough about the weather hahah

What is wrong with white clover? I encourage it and my chickens love it!
It's on my horse paddocks, it's too rich for the old gals, my one pony has foundered so I need to control it.

Buttercups are poisonous to horses, and goldenrod is just a nuisance.

Agatha laid another one of those today. I really don't know what causes it. I've done everything I can think of
I was thinking it was Penelope laying soft eggs, but she laid a nice egg today. So I think it's Blanche I guess. She seems ok so I don't think she is ill at all. Such a worry!

Get them bonded with him and he with them. Then they'll follow him around and inspect whatever project he's working on outside. Looks like the process is well started.
That's my plan. I figure if HE gets bonded to them, he will love them regardless and won't be afraid. And, if THEY bond to him, they won't be aggressive toward him/protective against him.

I'm hoping they will help protect my chickens and ducks. They are being brooded with my current ducklings and chicks, hoping they'll bond nicely (All involved!):fl

So, I am thinking of Harry & Sally for their names (like the movie), but honestly, other than that Idea....they haven't spoken to me yet, name wise.

It is a huge pet peeve of mine when I get hay that has clover in it. It turns all 3 boys into huge slobbering dogs who like to drool on me. The one thing that makes me gag is drool or slobber :sick .

I don’t like having a favorite pet, but I have to say, Rocks-Anne (Barred Rock hen) is by far the friendliest chook I have. She tells me when she wants to be picked up and snuggle with me. She will fall asleep in my arms, Coo and purr like a kitten. Me and that lady have been through a lot the last six years. I love her very much. :love

What is the herbicide for?

I need to make a run to the States to get some broad leaf herbicide to get rid of white clover and golden rod and buttercups.

I can't get it here as I need a special license to purchase it.
There is an aquatic vine that will cover the pond if I don't get ahead of it. I use a fish safe herbicide. It is slow acting but very effective.
