I’m not awfully familiar with the breed, but those hackles, legs, and Wattles at that age are screaming Boyo to me.

Beyond all doubt: rose comb pink, no wattles or size on comb is pullet. Rose comb pink, with wattles and growth on comb is cockerel. He's getting some beautiful colors.

I think it may have done something to Dotty’s brain. She was sitting at elbow height to me and she didn’t take a bite out of my arm!

One of these looks to be a roo. Oh boy.

And the Littles, 4 weeks old, a mix of RIRs, GLW, SLW, two Lavender Orpingtons and two White Leghorns!

This 6-7 week old is looking to me to be a rooster. I’m no expert but his bright red comb and wattles and the neck feathers look much different than his “sister”.
I didn’t want a rooster (thank you, TSC) but two years ago I didn’t want a leghorn either, then I got Blanche.
So we’ll see.

Just a little more wire around Those lines going down to the oven and hopefully I will have won the battle for the counters. I also caught the little bugger that was pooping all over my silverware around the end of April. It took baiting the “feeders” with PB and scratch for a solid week and listening to the clack clack of the bait cover getting bolder every night before raising the bar in the snap trap…
