It's tough. I know Alex. :hugs:hugs

I still find myself looking for Lilly when I only count 4 hens outside, not to mention Sansa. And I have tried to block out Sylvie and Legertha completely like they never were. 😢 I never talk about them or even look at pictures of them.

These losses take time. One's like Patsy's seem easier to me. I was there for her like you were there for Rocks-Anne. I hope that helps but she will always be unforgettable to you.
You speak with truth and clarity! :old

I just went out and grabbed Siri for some pictures. I had to resort to wrapping her up in a towel to keep her still. This is what I'm dealing with with her beak.

Does it seem to hurt her? It looks like a bit of the quick is exposed, but not too much. If it doesn't seem to hurt her to gently touch it, I would just file (gently, and not too much) the bottom beak a little and let her be, but keep an eye on it (filing will help them line up a bit better until the top grows out). As long as she is doing okay eating and such....just watch and wait for it to grow back.

Just don’t call Jaffar a “red-neck” he will attack you, if you throw insults at him. :old
Really? And I was the one thinking that chickens can't understand what you say!
Jaffar must be a very smart Cochin!

Progress report: The newbies spent some time out on the grass and ate freshly dug earthworms from our hands today. Not bad.
Excellent! That must have been quite the adventure. Good job!

Also, chopped steak 🥩 is easier to chew. (Just saying?) :D

Try this: hold up an ear of corn 🌽 at your birds, and say “Corn” loudly. I bet they would listen and come running! :drool

Break Time

I got some quality time with Phyllis today. I did not realize how much i missed her until she jumped up onto the deck when I was on break today. I was so excited to see her that the whole tribe got double snacks. I recorded it so you all could share in my joy.
