Not in pain I don't think. She act more or less normally but subdued. She is drinking and eating a little. I am restricting her food to chick starter mash and grit. She takes some of both and sometimes she voluntarily eats the coconut oil I am giving her to try and lubricate stuff.
She chats to her buddies who sit nearby on their day perch and preen.
I think her crop is a little less huge today, but that might just be reduced intake as it clearly is not empty! The miconazole is killing the yeast/thrush so the smell continues to reduce as do the fermentation bubbles I hear when I massage.
She really likes the massage - she sort of relaxes in my arms and closes her eyes - I wonder if it feels good because she certainly tries to adjust it a bit herself.

If she isn't in pain, at this point it's probably harder for you, than for her . Dont give up on her yet, it would take a few days to see if what you're doing is working or not.

I like the idea of raw eggs to eat, and if can get sugar water into her that's good also.

Is sugar in the water ok with the yeast ? I know for humans it's not recommended for any kind of thrush as it will feed those. Maybe electrolytes would be safer ?

Yes. Sugar makes yeast infections worse. But I need her to get some energy. I am not sure if they absorb any nutrients from the crop or if it needs to get further down to be utilized.
Some fluid passes through as she poops liquid. So maybe fast sugar is a good idea. It is hard to know.
I have beef baby food - human baby food so basically just liquidized beef. I might try that.

One of the effective treatments mentioned is Coke-cola. While I think caffeine is bad for chickens, could you maybe try giving her caffeine free coke? I have no idea where to look for this as treatment for chickens. I will say, though, that during my time as a CNA, patients with G & J tubes that were blocked...nurses frequently hung coke to clear the blockage......
Also mentioned in one the first articles was peanut butter. I assume it's action would be similar to coconut oil, but not sure if the consistency nor if the 'melting temp' would make a significant difference or not????

I have absolutely no idea if this is helpful, but assume that with your more advanced knowledge in this area, you can make a better judgement as to whether any of this is actionable.

I so hope Minnie pulls through - she is so loved & such a sweetie!

Well it's not ideal but if she isn't taking adequate calories in that is also an issue.

I would likely give the egg myself, but since she is treating with an antifungal the sugar water might give her more energy to move about.

Movement is one of the best things for circulation and bowel motility. It's always trial and error many times, with all animals, humans included

And I agree with you, it's likely harder for RC than Minnie...

Pony Sunday

This is Truly picking at whatever grass she can find. I have to keep my two ponies Sally and Lulu on a very strict diet to control their weight. As such they are limited to the two smaller paddocks. All those yellow flowers are the Baine of my existence, it buttercup and it's toxic to the horses they do not eat it I can't get proper herbicide to kill it off without a license and the agricultural companies won't come in to spray as I don't have enough land to make it worth their while.

I mow it down but it's a losing battle to do that as it grows so fast
