She looks REALLY GOOD! Her comb and wattles look a little pale though...I"m hoping she is fully up to snuff now?!?

In truth so am I. My hunch was correct and George who I pegged as a boy at hatch is in fact a boy. Twiggy, well darn it Twig got it's daddy's comb. So there is another one that will have me guessing for ages.

We will all be guessing about Twiggy for a while.

Phyllis Is Broken

I took Phyllis' eggs from her today. This did not bring me joy. But she was 35 days on the nest and did not give up on her own.

She was sad that her eggs were gone but she seemed to accept it. Here is what she had accumulated despite us trying to remove other's eggs.

Proof that she has given up is her on the roost tonight. She roosted in the main coop not the Cluckle Hut.

Good try Phyllis. I know it was sad but you did what was best for her. I'm really surprised she stuck it out that long being a Polish. Honestly I would expect Hattie to be your chronic broody seeing how she is a orpington.

I feel your pain. 103 yesterday and 100 today here

I pulled the air conditioner from the dog room because last night it was barely tolerable and we cleaned it so now it is cooling much better.

Our chickens make us happy and fill us with love. You are so good to yours, in so many ways, you deserve it. (and I am so thankful for your help and support) I do so wish they lived longer, though
