Here is the foghorn version of Bob’s cute bedtime chatter video.
Bernadette started out on the ‘wrong’ roost which was the subject of much discussion and some flying back and forth. This went on for at least an hour.

Phyllis Tried again this Afternoon

After spending most of the day out and about Phyllis disappeared in the late afternoon. I found her on the nest setting on the two eggs that were laid there today. All broody again.

I took the eggs and told her it was over. She stayed on the empty nest for a while but did roost with everyone else tonight.

That chicken wire is evil stuff to work with. A lot of swearing as it kept rolling up on me!

As bad as that is you could be doing hardware cloth. So there's that.

All my chooks get along at roosting time, except for little Dakota (Poor thing, she gets picked on by all the rest) I grabbed her and took her inside with me and Xzit.

I finally put some paving bricks on it to weigh it down and staple it in place till I could get the cover boards over top of it.

Chicken wire management:
Lay out the wire flat, then roll loosely back the other way. It should straighten itself out flat. Then it’s also easier to cut.
If you don’t want little cuts on your hands, then wear gloves .

I’m running out of ideas to keep the chooks cooled off. The fan in the coop only moves the air around. It doesn’t cool them down. They don’t want to come inside the house??
That air conditioner isn’t working properly anymore.

Alex, maybe cleaning the coils on the air conditioner will help it cool better.
