I have a couple like that, but only use them if I go out of town snd someone else looks after the chickens. Instead, I have several coop cups that hang on the hardware cloth. It’s messier, because they like to beak it out, but everyone can find a comfortable place to eat. A couple days a week I skip topping off their cups. This helps with two things:This one holds 15 pounds but they have a 30 pound model. I use the 15 pounder. I don't have a problem with mice but if you do I'd get something different. Wonderful! Congrats! And to think, the only reason I had today off was I am closing on my house, but didn't know what time it would be until Friday.
Hubby & I haven't been married too long (9 years). I'm finally selling my house. Thank goodness, I hated being a landlord, particularly since it is an hour away, and we could use the money to fix up 'our' house! ....and maybeuse some of it to make improvements to my chicken housing!!!!

Just LovelyBrenna
You know the way to my heart.
It's too hot for mine to only have layers mash or ferment . flexi would die if I don't offer anything else. I'm hand feeding her layers wet .
I would give all i had to be nearby you. You are soo uplifting ❤Marie! Deep breath ( secret of life: breath in..... Breath out...... Repeat.... Billion times).
It's ok - just take a moment to watch your kitty, pup and chooks, while breathing.
Hey so do you do up bangers and mash? If so next time toss them a bit of those sausage (and stand back so you don't get mowed over in the stampede haha). I prefer giving protein here as I have a crap load of green grass (hence those eggs I keep breaking).
My gals love mashed potatoes too but I only give once a week too much starch otherwise. Oh they also love turnip and carrots again only once a week. They absolutely hate broccoli which is ok as I love it so there is not much left over.
Oh I wish you were here! We have Japanese Beetles and I can get 100s of them shaken off my fruit trees! I get them in a bucket and toss them to the gals and stand back while they go after them
(Glad I am not a bug!!! Ha!)
Oh here are my surrogate chicks
