Are you entering anything in the HUGE BYC contest? I immediately thought of you and @Blazinga when I saw the arts categories!! So talented...I'm hoping you both do & both win!!!!

Speaking of that, has anyone heard from blazinga lately?? It's been a while since they've been on....
Blazinga was on uni break the last I heard from her, I believe she is still being creative which is why she’s not around. I’ll have to check out the contest? Is there a link?

I keep telling myself it is worth persevering because we know what she has and it will get better, but in spite of tube feeding multiple times a day she is getting weaker and weaker.
Honestly it is breaking my heart.
Oh no!! I’m so sad to hear that Bella is getting worse! :hit:hugs

Wow I did not think they would eat such things 😲

I will be extra careful with things for me now on! Thanks for the info!
Yes. Like Bob I count screws in and out and go over everything with a magnet broom.
But they find stuff lord alone knows where and sometimes I find very old stuff like a bottle of whisky from the 1930s and a horseshoe that must be of similar vintage. So however careful you are there is a risk.
That said, I think at least one bit of Maggie’s hardware collection is mine!

I don't know how to do that multi-quote thing for you and @bgmathteach. Yes, it takes time, but I am not seeing any improvement yet.
She is still gaping and still coughing. The virus is supposed to go dormant on average in 2 weeks. I get an average is just an average but we are really pushing the bounds of the range.
Off out for the next feed. I got some fancy syringes from a squirrel rescue on line and they are easier to use. I am also looking for bigger tubes to see if I can get more nutrients into her on each feed.

:hugs I know it is frustrating, but read this through. Might give you both a distraction, and some food for thought!:hugs

@RoyalChick : you are good with research, see if you can find the study. A 'mean' doesn't really tell you a whole lot. If you can find actual data, and the standard deviation, that will give you a MUCH more useful timeline. general rule of thumb: within 1 standard dev. of mean is about 68% of data values, within 2 st. dev. of mean is about 95% of data values, and within 3 St. dev. of the mean is about 99.7% of the data values. The long and short of this is: If the mean is 14 days and the standard deviation is 3 days, then you could be looking at up to 20 days (95% of data, within 2 St. Dev.), as generally, the 'outer 5%' of data is looked at as 'outliers' so to speak.

So, you could be looking at nearly an extra week, without it being 'unusual' in this case. (this is a hypothetical example, I have no idea what the true data is except for your previously stated 'mean of 14 days.)
