Every chook is enjoying the water park I set up in the coop area. But (Flash) is overheated 🥵 I brought her inside with me and the air conditioning. I guess she gets extra meally worms and ice cold corn on the cob for now. My special Flash.
And she’s got one big fluffy butt too! E43A8265-0F48-490F-88B1-19A11B6EB0A0.jpeg

Since little Ezzie moved from the incubator to the brooder 4 hours ago she has done the following...
*Bit me when I went to take her out of the incubator.
*Pooped on me while I was trying to teach her to drink.
*Decided that instead of eating, she should hop into my lap to take a nap and while she had me won over, pooped on me again.
*The look she gives me, she has no regrets for biting me or pooping on me.
I'm in love already with her attitude.

Everyone meet the poop machine Ezzie!!

Oh dear god, no chick is cuter!

I would LOVE a smaller one. And in the summer that is what they have. But I haven't found a smaller heated one. Grrrr.
And yes - the nipple waterer would be an option. They have a nipple waterer on a heated base inside the coop already, so I could just abandon the hanging waterer in the winter altogeher and let them deal with the nipple one.
But I am a softy - and they clearly prefer the open one (though they are perfectly adept at using the nipples).
Maybe I just need to practice more - the second time today (after I washed the floor of the servants' quarters in the Chicken Palace) I was clearly already a bit better at it!
I know this is a post from 5 months ago, and I also feel really silly to suggest: if you don't mind a smaller one, how about you only fill half of the waterer? Doesn't that make it easier to flip?
