Holy Dinah 😳

I thought she was going to pitch head first onto the ground!!! Is this normal - does anyone else see this with their sleeping chickens??
Mine have done that. Usually the younger birds (Lark and Indigo while under Mama on a roost). I've seen more mature birds do so as well, but not generally after POL age.

How many weeks old is Bernadette now?
I think it is almost exactly 16 weeks. She is developing fast. She is also fast on her feet which makes me happy given her earlier issues.
She is like a soccer player, she is always dodging sideways and around with fancy footwork!

Update for Rose

I didn’t want to go out the the barn phsicallly and disturb them so just used the cameras.

I checked the barn cam at 3;30 she is quiet but still panting and sounds like coughing now. I wonder if something is caught in her trachea ??? At any rate or will be the Vet for her this morning

Ok I am back to sleep
How about a little coconut or olive oil to start off with if you think she has something caught in her throat 🤔 :hugs:hugs

Hey get her a manager, you may be able to start off the first ever chickens football team :D

I think over a lifetime with cats I have experienced some crazy cats for sure.
Plenty more stories from that department!
Mine is being a total brat . Ever since this heat and the girls coming inside. I'm not chasing him any more. But hopefully I'll lock him in tonight.

Gotta luv cats - mine has been house bound past few days with the heat so she has taken to entertaining herself with ambushing me . Owww ! Darn cat scratches on legs .

I am sure you have helped her with some lubrication. Praying for her to pull through this.
We're saying good bye, she's been lying unconscious and breathing very fast for three hours now. It seems this little ex-batt has used up her nine lives.

She is my first chicken to leave and as the rule has it, our favorite. I hope this won't take too long.
