too bad i cant stand in their coop (it is not tall enough for a human to stand at)That’s just because it’s something new - don’t let them rule you! Be gentle but firm. And soon you will have chickens that just won’t leave you alone!!!

Maggie has two patches on her comb that go blue particularly when it is very hot or very cold. I first noticed them the summer after she got frost bite in her comb (before the Chicken Palace was built with all its lovely ventilation!).I have this is some of my Roosters and heavier hens, especially when it is hot out. Mr Maran and Dean both have combs that turn blue under even slight stress, and I’ve also seen it in my meat girls, and a few of my older heavier laying hens. It comes and goes, and I usually take it a a sign that something is stressing their system, usually heat, casing down an idiot cockerel, or a reluctant hen etc.
Oh dear - the fact that we need a sign post to identify where her eyes are suggests to me you haven't gone far enough.Haircut
Gucci's trim is really only 1/2 done. Mrs BY Bob was not aggressive enough trimming so we changed spots. I got her right side done pretty well but Gucci was fussing during the left side and let out a screech. Well that was that.
"Stop it your hurting her" was Mrs BY Bob's response to the screech and I was no longer allowed near her.
It has been not quite 2 weeks since her last trim. Amazing how fast the feathers grew back. Gucci is 0.678 kg (~1.5 lbs) and has gained 0.1 kg (~0.2 lbs) during that time. She feels much bigger when you hold her than she has in the past. She is about 1/2 the size of Phyllis and Betty.

One of my cats diligently clears by desk for me. First he lays one way and swipes with his tail. Then he turns around and repeats the process.…. And if you ignore them they just fly up onto the desk and try to steal my food!
