I know what it is, the transmitter/ receiver needs to be re-paired, but it fuddle climbing ladders, disconnect Ethernet cables…

And somehow I managed to get pine sap in my hair and couldn’t get it out - I got angry grabbed the scissors and hacked it out 😳 hahaha thankfully I long hair so I can hide the hacked out section.

Ok IOU tax for whining Bob

Have I used this one before?

FWIW, sticky ANYTHING, including sap in hair is a simple fix: olive oil. Work it into the area the sticky is in. Keep working it around. It has the lowest flash point of all the cooking oils so thins out at the lowest temps (body heat and/or a hair dryer), making it thin enough to work into extra fine hair and get under the sticky. Wash it out with soap/shampoo. (Even works with lice eggs....although a tea tree oil shampoo is better for washing out the oil at that point). Dunno how well that would work on feathers.
I look terrible, so ignore me, instead look at Happy.

Not sure why double quoting... cleared it....twice....

My poor chooks. It’s still 95f and they are all panting inside the coop. Nobody wanted to come inside with me tonight. :hitThe fan isn’t doing much good.
I went back out and brought Jaffar inside with me. He gets respiratory problems and needs care on very hot days.

I feel you, we’ve had temperatures around 90 the last few weeks, I was so happy we got a few days of normal temperatures, cos they are going up again 😕 I hate when doctors ( for humans or otherwise) don’t talk to me!! I am a nurse, and I want to know what is going on!!! I also prefer the doctor who treats symptoms and doesn’t just „bomb“ everything … and if I think something isn’t necessary I don’t do it..as for Ivermectin, so many people have self treated during the pandemic it can be too harmful 😅 I do have a very good avian specialist , only thing is, she’s 100 km away, ( in Germany, especially near a big city like Berlin, 100 km can take ages to drive, and then you have the return journey too 🙄) she used to work at the university clinic and then went to work at a vet practice, I follo her, she used to have chickens, so she really knows them :)

I can hardly put this into words, but little Lulu is in trouble.
She went into the nest boxes this morning and stayed about 4 hours. No egg. She came out on her own and wandered around but looked bad (tail down, not moving fast). I gave her some calcium pills and had a feel around but I cannot feel an egg, so if one is stuck it is stuck higher up in the system.
She went back into the nest boxes this afternon for another couple of hours.
Still no egg.
She is out now but not looking great.
I managed to get some more calcium into her but I have a horrible feeling of impending doom.

If I lose Lulu I think I really need to rethink keeping chickens. I just don't seem to be very good at keeping them alive. Or maybe I keep a much larger number and care more about the flock than the individual and accept losses as just one of those things that goes with keeping chickens.

Poor little Lulu - I knew she was too young and too small to be laying eggs (albeit very small ones).
My heart is breaking for you RC! :hit I really hope little Lulu pulls through! I'm catching up and I'm only now about 30 pages behind but I hope I read ahead and find that she's doing better. :hugs
