Take care of yourself, and rest. Is the Rhinovirus going around as well? I had covid a year ago, no fever, just felt like a sinus infection from you know where. For almost 3 weeks every breath I took it felt like a hot poker was being shoved up my nose. That and extreme exhaustion. In October I caught the Rhinovirus that was going around, that about took me out. Worse then any flu I've ever had, and 3 days in I made the comment I would take covid again over that.

I currently have Covid and feel like I've had worse colds.

Well covid, flu.... Whatever it is I sick, thanks for asking .

I am leaning towards influenza as the symptoms are exactly what I get from flu. Starts with headache, then the 'careful cough' next fever body aches, vicious headache, then seriously evil sore throat (which started tonight), and more serious cough (which also started tonight).

I had been taking my Tylenol 1s, but went to Aleve, as it worked better and longer of headaches and achy body. Aleve is great but I can't take more than a few doses before it starts to bother my stomach.... On the up side my back is great with the Aleve hahaha!

Now I am just waiting for it to kick in here, my barn cams are still down so I can't see the horses and chickies darn it! It's official I am addicted to the barn cam

Feel better soon. That sounds a lot like my bout with COVID. It was very similar to flu, but I had one of these later variants.

The Case of the Disappearing Chicken

So, one of my DC girls 'disappeared' on me, and a week later I saw her in the afternoon and 'threw' her into the coop/run complex...as there were fox sightings and I was afraid she would be a sitting target....until I saw her, I thought she had been gotten and was no more.

Well the very next morning she bolted the minute I went to give them the morning check/food/water.(she was quicker than I, I didn't shut the door in time)

I searched high and low, but could not find her I was sure she would not be long for this world with the foxes out and about...and did I mention we have raccoons?

A week and a half ago, on a Saturday, as we were getting ready to go to the transfer station, my husband asked if I needed the cardboard leaning against the house...as he would take it to be recycled if I didn't......
Low and behold, the ONE place I didn't check - but should have! My little DC girl was in the sand bucket under the roof overhang, BEHIND the cardboard. She had 4 eggs she was sitting on! I was afraid the eggs wouldn't hatch due to mom being off of them overnight, but I felt I had to let her sit for a while anyways, after all she was quite determined to be a mom, and shrieked bloody murder when I found her and checked to see what was under her.

I have put food and water out with easy access, and figured that she would get until this weekend...if nothing by then, back into the coop/run with the other she would go!

Well...this afternoon I went to check on her on my way into the house from work.......

I am alive; but I tell you I have just had the worst 24 hrs, so ill exhausted, body aches, fever, savage sore throat (still have that) some coughing massive headache, and then nausea and throwing up. Of course not having eaten anything all I was doing was dry heaving.

My stomach muscles are protesting right now , but the worst is the sore throat, trying to work it’s way up into my sinuses. Add in runny nose and constant streaming eyes…. 00:08hrs on Thursday - thirsty Thursday - so o am having a cuppa bovril, every swallow a journey in serious agony, but I feel a bit better.

How crazy that my mum had this few days before me, and all she had was a mild cold symptoms for a few days. Me I have been brewing this since Saturday! And so ill. Of course she has had her four full doses of the jab, were as I only had 4…. Bad Kelly!

But I am upright and not too bad all considering. I might even have another bovril!

Mr Pompei is going to need his golden locks pinned up to keep them out of his food and water! (Ok going to be gross here: long hair an vomiting don’t mix )

One of my grey gals is bound and determined to sleep in the shavings section on top of my cars winter tires I have stored there! I move her every night back to the hen house

Maybe she fancies this spot ?

Thanks, this was as bad as the worst flu I have had, the worst is this sore throat now, trying to move into my sinuses.

And of course not having my barn cams is irritating. Ok well it’s now 00:30hrs here and I am starting to wane again. Back to bed for me.
